Sam Fesmire - Character/Story Artist
Story Art requires a loose but decisive hand when drawing. An artist must move quickly to keep up with the pacing of the movie they are watching along and recording to in their head. It's important to have a clear vision of what your characters and the space they inhabit, since there are often a lot of moving pieces in a sequence.
After developing thumbnail sketches, digital storyboards can be assembled to include dialogue and notes from a script. The art flow remains quick-paced and rough, but the introduction of color and tone can clarify details and highlight different subjects.
